One Pot Meals

When cooking over charcoal or wood fires, soap the outside of your pot for easier cleaning.

Master Plan for One-Pot Meals (Serves 12)
Brown together: 3 lbs. hamburger (or ground turkey)
1 large onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
2 cans tomato soup

Then add ingredients to make the meal you want.

Chili
4 cans kidney beans
Chili powder to taste

Spaghetti
1 lb. package spaghetti, cooked separately

Corn Casserole
3 cans whole kernel corn
1/2 lb. diced American cheese

Quick Spaghetti
Use 1 can tomato soup in the basic recipe
Add 4 14 oz. cans spaghetti

Spanish Rice
1 14 oz. pkg. Minute Rice cooked separately

Hunters Stew
4 cans vegetable soup

Ranch Style Beans
2 pkg. onion soup mix
2 28 oz. cans baked beans

Sloppy Joes
Spoon the basic recipe on hamburger buns
 

Chicken Hotdish (Serves 25)

1 box (14 oz.) Minute Rice
2 cans chicken rice soup
4 cans boned chicken
4 sticks celery - chopped
2 cans cream of mushroom soup
1 large onion - chopped
3 soup cans water

Mix all ingredients. Cook 20-30 minutes until rice is tender.

Beany-Weanies (Serves 30)

8 cans baked beans (1 lb. 5 oz.)
3 lbs. wieners - sliced in 3/4" rounds

Mix together and heat thoroughly.

Sausage and Rice (Serves 30)

4 lbs. pork sausage (can use hamburger or half and half)
1 cup chopped celery
5 chopped green onions
4 cups rice

Brown all ingredients together. Drain off some of the fat.

Add:
4 envelopes dehydrated chicken soup
8 cups water

Cover and cook until rice is cooked and most of the liquid is absorbed.

Taco Stew (Serves 30)

8 cans chili without beans
12 fresh tomatoes
2 heads lettuce
1 large pkg. shredded cheese
3 large bags small Fritos

Warm the chili. Dice tomatoes, shred lettuce. Each person puts a handful of Fritos on their plate, tops with a spoonful of chili. Sprinkle lettuce, tomato, and cheese on top as desired.

Calamity (Serves 12)

1 lb. bacon
60 oz. frozen hash browns
1 dozen eggs
1 lb. cheese, grated

Brown the bacon. Remove from pan and crumble. Brown the hash browns in bacon grease. Lightly beat the eggs, add to potatoes. Cook until eggs are done. Add crumbled bacon. Sprinkle with cheese, if desired. This is a great breakfast! Can be cooked in a skillet or pot.
