Language Arts includes reading, language, spelling and handwriting.  Novel units incorporate both reading and language for both grade levels. 

    As a class we will complete several literary units.  While we are not working on literary units the students will be given grade-level assignments from their reading books or work on grade-level literary units.

   We will also be also be having weekly reading activities.  Students will be broken into small reading groups of 3-4 students.  The groups will rotate through a list of selections and complete projects based on the books they are reading.

- Dinosaurs Before Dark

We will start the year off with a class reading group.  We will be reading Afternoon on the Amazon and learning about the rainforest!
