Denim Pocket Purse

Directions:

Cut out the pocket from the jeans, front and back so when its cut out it has an opening at the top.  Put pockets together and use safety pins to pin in place while you sew.  Using ribbon for the strap is easier for beginning seamstresses.  Measure your ribbon or jean seam piece to the length you want your purse strap to be, add four inches and trim.  Use your safety pins to pin the strap into place too.  Sew the pockets together and the strap between them using the darning needle and crochet thread.  You need the large needle and thread to hold up to the denim.  The example above added some lace trim, you can add any kind of trim you like.
